Return of Unused COM:

Purchaser must specify within original written order to have any unused COM returned (to be enclosed with the actual shipment of furniture). Any remaining COM that is not requested will be donated to a local design school or charity organization. If client fails to notify us at time of order it is their responsibility to pay for freight to receive unused COM.

KNIT BACKING

  • RTMH will offer knit backing as a service to client/purchasers requesting it.
  • Whether or not a fabric requires backing is entirely at the discretion of the purchaser.
  • It is not the responsibility of RTMH to recommend or advise backing treatments.
  • Orders cannot be cancelled if the purchaser opts not to back the fabric.
  • Printed hemp fabrics and glazed linens tend to wrinkle if not backed for upholstery.
  • We do not take responsibility for the choice or type of backing or any changes that might occur to the fabric as a result of the treatment listed below.

LEATHER

RTMH is proud to carry the purest, finest quality leather. Our leather may vary in texture, color and natural markings.

Cuttings for Approval (CFA)

  • We require cutting approval before shipping.
  • Memo samples are rarely cut from the prime, usable portions of the hide such as the center. They will therefore vary in color and texture from the portion usually used by your upholsterer.
  • Orders should not be rejected based on CFA or memo sample, as we will happily submit a hide for approval if there is any doubt.

Curation

RTMH Leather is a naked, full grain leather with a light protective finish. European hides are hand selected through a sorting process. To produce 5,000 square feet of RTMH Leather, we sort through approximately 70,000 square feet to find only the most clear complexions.

In the spirit of traditional leather craftsmanship, RTMH favors full grain hides, which age into their inherent, natural beauty. Full grain hides are considered the highest in quality by industry standards, as the livestock are carefully and humanely raised by ranchers to preserve a coat with minimal imperfections. Unlike top grain hides, our full grain hides aren’t sanded or buffed to remove their defects. RTMH Leather is not only chosen to last a lifetime, but to age with elegance.

Pure, Aniline Dyed

Fully aniline dyed leather means no topcoat is applied to mask bruises, scars or markings. For this reason, only premium hides with the most pleasing color and texture are selected for full aniline dying. Our hides will never appear painted or even in tone. Due to the minimal processing, the naked hide is left with beautiful, natural markings which are enhanced by our skin’s oils over time.

Care

Hides are wonderfully low maintenance. Furniture will only need minimal dusting or vacuuming. The light protective finish used on RTMH Leather will resist most spills for approximately one minute – long enough to blot the surface clean with a damp cloth.

Placing The Order

  1. Provide the total number of square feet.
  2. Be aware that hides have a “usable” area which does not include the entire hide. We do not bill in “usable” square feet; we bill by the hide.
  3. Leather is generally calculated at 18 square feet per yard of 54” fabric.
  4. As RTMH does not sell half hides, there are some circumstances where an additional hide may be required.

Overage

No cowhide is identical in size. Customers are charged for the hide’s predetermined square feet, as listed in the price list. RTMH Leather no longer charges for overage, eliminating the inconvenience of double billing.

HEMP

Hemp is a natural fiber and will always vary slightly in weave and color. This variance is characteristic to the properties of hemp and enhances its appearance. The variance in the natural fiber also affects the way the fabric accepts color. The unique beauty of these prints lies in their antiquity and subtlety of color. This is achieved through hours of color refinement and screen detail. All processes are executed by hand, including the dyeing of the hemp linen grounds. Because the fabrics are not mass produced, there will be color variation with each production run. This variation adds distinctiveness to each order. We hope that you will encourage your clients to understand and appreciate the extraordinary beauty of these designs.

Hemp fiber is one of the strongest and most durable of all natural textile fibers. Products made from hemp will outlast their competition by many years. Hemp provides all the warmth and softness of a natural fabric but with a superior durability seldom found in other materials.

Not only is hemp strong, it also holds its shape, stretching less than any other natural fiber. Although known for its durability, its comfort and style are second to none. The more hemp is used, the softer it gets. Hemp doesn’t wear out, it wears in. Hemp is also naturally resistant to mold and ultraviolet light.

Due to its porous nature, hemp is more water absorbent, and will dye and retain its color better than any fabric including cotton. This porous nature allows hemp to “breathe”, making it cool in warm weather. Resistance to mold makes hemp excellent for outdoor uses or in areas of high humidity. Hemp fabric rapidly absorbs moisture, which accounts for its coolness and comfort when used for bed sheets.

Orders

Hemp Linen is printed in approximately 30 yard lengths. Piece sizes will vary. Patterns and colors are interchangeable.

Custom Orders

Anyone of our hemp print designs can be custom colored. Please provide a color sample that is non reflective and large enough to cut into thirds. We suggest nothing smaller than 4” square. Paint chips and solid wools or cotton are best. Please avoid velvets and other “nap” fabrics.
